Terms & Conditions

These Terms govern your use of Cadence, comprising the website at getcadence.uk (the "Site") and the application at app.getcadence.uk (the "App"), together the "Service", operated by Luke Wilson ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the App. By using the App, you confirm that you meet this requirement. This applies whether or not you provide an email address or upgrade to Cadence Pro.

2. What Cadence is — and isn't

Cadence is a planning tool designed to help you organise tasks around variable energy, focus, and capacity. It is not a medical device, and it does not provide medical, psychiatric, therapeutic, or mental health advice, diagnosis, or treatment. This applies to every part of the Service, including AI-generated day plans and the "Ask Cadence" chat feature.

If you are experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, contact emergency services or a crisis helpline directly. Do not rely on Cadence, including Ask Cadence, as a substitute for professional support.

3. Your data and access

Your Cadence data is tied to your device unless you upgrade to Pro and enable sync, in which case it's tied to your email. You're responsible for keeping any login details secure and for activity that happens through your access. Let us know at hello@getcadence.uk if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. AI-generated content

Day plans, rescheduling suggestions, and messages generated by Cadence use Google's Gemini API. AI-generated content can be wrong, unsuitable, or nonsensical. You're responsible for reviewing your plan before relying on it — particularly for anything safety-critical (for example, medication timing or appointments). See our Privacy Policy for details of what data is sent to Google when you use these features.

5. Subscriptions and payment (Cadence Pro)

Some features (including cross-device sync, timed task reminders, and AI-powered rescheduling) require a paid Cadence Pro subscription. Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account settings; your Pro features remain active until the end of the current billing period. We don't offer refunds for partial billing periods except where required by law.

6. Referrals

Cadence's referral program may offer credit or discounts for successful referrals. We reserve the right to adjust, suspend, or remove referral rewards, and to refuse rewards obtained through abuse of the system (for example, fake accounts).

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use Cadence for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to access another user's account or data
  • Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service
  • Use automated means to scrape or extract data from the Service without our permission

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.

8. Your content

You retain ownership of the tasks, notes, and other content you enter into Cadence. You grant us a licence to process that content solely to provide the Service to you (including sending it to Google's Gemini API as described in our Privacy Policy).

9. Intellectual property

Cadence's branding, design, and underlying software are owned by us and may not be copied or reused without permission.

10. Data deletion and export

You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings, or request a copy or deletion of your data via the link in the Site footer. See our Privacy Policy for details.

11. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is". While we work to keep Cadence reliable, we don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or anything else that cannot be excluded under UK law.

12. Changes to the Service or these Terms

We may update Cadence's features and these Terms from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
